Project Coordinator
A national organization is implementing a project aimed at protecting Afghan refugees from Gender-Based Violence (GBV) through prevention, response, and community engagement activities. We are looking for dynamic, committed, and experienced individuals to join our team in the following roles:
Location: Peshawar with frequent travel to the project areas of operation.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Lead the overall planning, implementation, supervision, and quality assurance of the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Protection Project, ensuring all activities align with project objectives and donor guidelines.
-
Develop and oversee comprehensive work plans, budgets, and timelines for the effective execution of project interventions across the designated project area.
-
Act as the primary focal point for communication and coordination with stakeholders including donor agencies, UN bodies, partner NGOs, community leaders, and government departments.
-
Supervise and support project staff including Social Mobilizers, Admin & Finance Officer, and other field personnel to ensure smooth project operations and adherence to protection standards.
-
Ensure the application of survivor-centered approaches in all GBV-related interventions, upholding principles of confidentiality, safety, non-discrimination, and respect at all times.
-
Facilitate training and capacity-building sessions for staff and community members on GBV prevention, response mechanisms, protection principles, and referral pathways.
-
Lead the design and rollout of community awareness campaigns, outreach sessions, and advocacy efforts focused on GBV prevention and the promotion of gender equality.
-
Ensure timely and accurate documentation of project activities, data collection, and preparation of donor reports, success stories, case studies, and lessons learned.
-
Continuously assess protection risks and community needs, and adapt project activities in consultation with stakeholders to ensure effectiveness and relevance.
-
Support the development and strengthening of community-based protection structures and referral networks, ensuring Afghan refugee communities are actively engaged in GBV prevention and response.
-
Supervise the Women Girls Safe Spaces established under the project support their services delivery.
-
Prepare high-quality periodic progress reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) aligned with donor and organizational reporting requirements.
-
Maintain accurate records of activities, meetings, training sessions, outreach campaigns, and beneficiary data.
-
Collect, compile, and analyze field data to support evidence-based reporting and decision-making.
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or related field.
-
At least 10 years in humanitarian/protection project management with at least a minimum of 2–3 years of experience in M&E.
-
Strong command of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with data management tools is an advantage.

Excellent writing and communication skills in English.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
2. Admin & Finance Officer (01 Position)
Location: Peshawar
Type: Full-time | Project-based
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain financial records including petty cash and bank transactions.

Prepare monthly financial reports and forecasts.
-
Ensure transparent procurement and maintain asset records.
-
Manage payroll, staff contracts, and attendance.
-
Facilitate audits with proper documentation.
-
Coordinate with project staff for compliant expenditure.
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelors in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
-
3+ years in NGO finance/admin roles.
-
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks).
-
Strong attention to detail and compliance knowledge.
3. Social Mobilizers (08 Positions).
Location: Field-based (Refugee-hosting communities & camps in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Type: Full-time - Project-based
Key Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the project Coordinator a community mobilizer will be required for the implementation of a Project on Afghan Refugee Response in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The position holder will coordinate and facilitate the project activities related to the target communities such as identification and formation of community-based committees/support groups, mobilization and facilitating the active participation of community members, participating in planning, monitoring, and implementation of agreed activities, supporting community groups in identification and prevention of community issues, identifying and resolving any related issues at the community level. Community Mobilizer is a field-based position and is responsible to directly engaging with communities, children, government departments, and Civil Society Organizations to establish an effective response. Key of the tasks for the position holder may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Engaging community members in various project-related activities ensuring that
Activities are implemented appropriately.

Contribute to the design and implementation of outreach activities and provide timely input to the project team

Keep the community updated and involved in the project and its planned activities.
-
Consistently collect data on activities implemented and attendance, recording attendance of children and women and girls and submit weekly reports.
-
Screen for and monitor risks to children’s women and girls in and around safe spaces and report it to the Project Coordinator for coordinated follow-up.
-
Combine community groups to form protection committees in targeted communities.
-
Regularly conduct meetings with the communities in assigned areas.
-
Support the Project Coordinator in mapping service providers to establish district-based referral mechanisms.
-
Run awareness-raising campaigns in communities.
-
Flag protection issues need to be addressed through awareness-raising activities and support the development of key messages and material.
-
Solving and reporting issues regarding children’s women and girls and facilitators.
-
Report logistic needs to management for any activities on-ground.
-
Ensure that the CP and GBV cases are identified from communities and Safe Spaces and are reported to caseworkers for further case management.
-
Develop and submit progress reports to the Project coordinator as and when required.
-
Ensure adherence to the Code of Conduct and reporting procedures.
-
Perform any other project-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
-
Conduct community outreach on GBV prevention and services.
-
Identify and refer GBV survivors to support services.
-
Engage with women’s groups, youth clubs, and elders.
-
Support formation and capacity building of community-based protection committees.
-
Collect data and support activity reporting.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Social Sciences, Social Work, Community Development, or related field.

At least 04 years in community engagement/ protection.
-
Fluency in English Urdu & Pashto; understanding of refugee dynamics.
-
Strong interpersonal and cultural sensitivity skills.

4. House Manager/Teacher - Shelter (01 Position-Female)
Location: Peshawar.
Type: Full-time - Project-based
Key Responsibilities:
Shelter Home Management
-
Ensure the shelter home operates smoothly, securely, and in accordance with GBV protection protocols and safety guidelines.
-
Oversee the daily routine of residents, including meals, hygiene, rest, recreational activities, and scheduled classes.
-
Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing environment that promotes healing and dignity.
-
Monitor the wellbeing of residents and report any medical, psychosocial, or protection concerns to relevant project staff (case workers, psychosocial counselors, etc.).
-
Ensure that all shelter rules are explained to and understood by residents upon arrival, and fairly enforced throughout their stay.
Teaching & Life Skills
-
Design and deliver basic education sessions for residents (literacy, numeracy, general knowledge).
-
Facilitate life skills training (e.g., personal hygiene, communication, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, basic rights awareness).
-
Maintain a flexible, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive teaching environment suitable for vulnerable women and girls.
Administrative & Record Keeping
-
Maintain individual files and attendance records of each resident.
-
Keep records of daily activities, incidents, and general observations for internal reporting and follow-up.
-
Ensure shelter inventory (food, clothing, hygiene kits, learning materials) is regularly checked and stocked.

Coordinate with procurement/admin staff for replenishment of shelter supplies.
Required Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, or related field.

Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience working in a shelter, residential care, or GBV-related program.
-
Experience teaching adult women and adolescent girls in low-literacy or trauma-sensitive environments.
-
Knowledge of GBV principles, survivor-centered approaches, and protection protocols.

Excellent interpersonal skills; patience, empathy, and cultural sensitivity are essential.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage stress, and respond calmly to emergencies.

Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari; knowledge of Urdu and basic English is an asset.

6. House Mother – Shelter (02 Position - Female):
Location: Peshawar.

Key Responsibilities:
Care and Support for Residents:

Provide compassionate, motherly care to all residents, ensuring their emotional and physical well-being.
-
Support newly arrived residents with orientation and integration into the shelter environment.
-
Offer comfort and emotional reassurance to residents experiencing trauma, stress, or fear.
-
Monitor residents’ behavior, mood, and health, and report any concerns to shelter staff (psychosocial counselor, nurse, or case manager).
Household Management:
-
Help ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained throughout the shelter.
-
Supervise residents’ participation in daily chores such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation in a fair and respectful manner.
-
Support kitchen operations, including meal planning, serving, and monitoring food quality and distribution.
Discipline and Routine:
-
Ensure adherence to the shelter rules and routines in a gentle and respectful manner.
-
Support residents in maintaining their personal hygiene and cleanliness of shared spaces.
-
Promote conflict resolution and positive behavior among residents.

Emotional and Social Development
-
Engage residents in informal activities such as storytelling, games, group discussions, or crafts to foster a sense of belonging and community.

Coordination and Documentation:

Work closely with shelter staff including the House Manager, psychosocial counselor, and case management team.

Support shelter staff in intake/discharge procedures and maintaining resident files and records.
Required Qualifications:

Intermediate plus additional training in caregiving, first aid, or protection will be an asset.

At least 2 years of experience in a similar caregiving, residential care, or social support role.

Demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable women and girls in a respectful, empathetic, and non-judgmental manner.

Strong understanding of household routines and hygiene standards.
-
Basic understanding of gender-based violence, protection concerns, and survivor care principles is highly desirable.
-
Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari; Urdu is an asset.
-
Must be a mature, calm, and dependable individual, capable of responding appropriately in emotionally intense situations.
7. Security Guard-Shelter (02 Position – Male)
Location: Peshawar.
Type: Full-time - Project-based
Key Responsibilities:
Shelter Security & Surveillance
-
Ensure the security of the shelter compound 24/7 by conducting routine patrols and monitoring all entrances, exits, and surrounding areas.
-
Operate security systems such as CCTV (if available), lights, and communication tools to maintain situational awareness.
-
Prevent unauthorized access to the shelter by strictly monitoring visitors and checking identity documents when necessary.
-
Maintain a log of all visitors and incidents, and report any suspicious activities to the Shelter Manager immediately.
-
Monitor and secure entry points during resident intake or discharge to ensure safety and confidentiality.
Support to Shelter Operations
-
Assist staff during emergencies such as evacuations, conflicts, or medical situations.
-
Escort staff, residents, or visitors when needed, especially during nighttime hours.
-
Support the shelter team in ensuring a calm and controlled environment during external disruptions or threats.
Required Qualifications and Experience
-
Minimum education: Primary and an additional training in security, first aid, or emergency response is a strong asset.
-
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a security guard, preferably in NGOs, humanitarian shelters, hospitals, or protective facilities.
-
Experience working in sensitive environments or with vulnerable populations (especially women and children) is highly desirable.
-
Good physical condition with ability to stay alert and handle high-pressure situations calmly and respectfully.
-
Trustworthy, disciplined, and respectful of confidentiality, especially concerning survivors of GBV.
-
Fluency in local languages (Pashto, Dari); understanding of Urdu is an asset.
8. Driver-Shelter (01 Position – Male)
Location: Peshawar.
Type: Full-time - Project-based
Key Responsibilities:
Transport and Logistics
-
Safely transport shelter staff, GBV survivors (under supervision), and project goods to various locations as directed.
-
Provide reliable transportation for emergency cases, hospital visits, case follow-ups, and coordination meetings.
-
Assist in loading and unloading materials such as food, hygiene kits, and shelter supplies as needed.
-
Ensure all trips are documented with appropriate log entries including date, time, destination, mileage, and fuel usage.
Vehicle Maintenance
-
Conduct daily checks to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and report any issues promptly.
-
Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle—both interior and exterior—at all times.
-
Schedule and track regular maintenance (oil changes, filters, brakes, etc.) in coordination with admin staff.
-
Ensure the vehicle is fueled, equipped with a spare tire, jack, and first aid kit, and that safety gear is functional.
Safety and Security
-
Follow all traffic rules and organizational safety protocols strictly.
-
Ensure that all passengers wear seat belts and behave respectfully during transport.
-
Never leave the vehicle unattended when transporting residents or confidential items.
-
Maintain strict confidentiality, particularly when dealing with GBV survivors or sensitive case movements.
Administrative Support

Maintain accurate vehicle logs and submit them regularly to the Admin & Logistics Officer.
